Spring and Cabin Fever!

Drew is getting so old, he is now 18 months old. He is loving the warm weather and getting outside to play. He is a kid that knows how to play hard. We are loving being his parents! These are just some random photos of him lately.

Easter time!

It was Drew's second Easter but was his first time to actually hunt for some Easter candy, and he loved eating it!! We had an Easter party on both sides of the family and he had a lot of fun with his cousins!

Cabin Fever!!!

We were super lucky to go to a cabin for a whole week with our friends. Drew loved throwing rocks and snowballs and getting all muddy. He had a blast with his friend Eli (although a lot of the time he is just too rough and would try to hit him). They chased bubbles, threw balls, and Eli opened a whole new world of toy cars to Drew.

The last couple days of the trip it was snowy and beautiful. Drew wasn't a big fan of the snow, but mostly because of the snow suit he had to wear. It was a bit big for him and he couldn't walk in it, so he would just stand there very frustrated. Poor kid. After the cold snow he and Eli loved bath time. Drew couldn't hit Eli and would just laugh really hard at whatever Eli did in the bath. It was a highlight of the day.

Thanks to our good friends, Kristin and Tyler, for letting us go with them on their vacation!

Valentines, 1st hair cut, and more!

Valentines Day- I'm not a huge Valentines Day lover, but I do admit I loved having it on Sunday this year. It was so nice to have Ted home and be with my 2 favorite boys. Ted gave me some custom made M&M's (one of my favorite treats) with pictures of him and Drew on them. I loved it and thought it was a delicious and hilarious gift. Ted got a Star Wars t-shirt to add to his collection of random t-shirts. And Drew got a Valentines balloon to play with!
First Haircut! I finally took Drew to get his first haircut ever. I used to think people were so silly to wait so long to give their baby a first haircut, but I ended up dragging my feet and not wanting to get rid of the cute curls. (I also wanted Drew to have a good experience and he had been sick for a few weeks). Well he was a champ and didn't seemed too bothered by it all. In the end he looked like a totally different kid (super handsome, if I do say so myself!).

Some of Drew's favorites lately- Drew is full of energy and other than biting and hitting every child he sees he is super fun! Drew has loved balls for qutie some time now. He can spend a lot of time playing with his favorite toy (the ball popper). He also loves to sit up on the couch and through the balls and have you fetch them for him. Another (new found) love is olives- look closely and you can see him gobbling one up off his finger. Lastly, Drew loves being outside and going down the slide at the playground. We are both really loving the idea of spring knocking at our door.

Mini Me(s)- Our friends, Bill and Karen, came to town and we got together with our group of friends and had a blast. Ted has had people mention that Drew is a mini me to him. Well, it was too funny seeing Drew run around with Bill's son, Sam; it looked like a mini Bill and Ted running around!

Random highlights from the last few months

I was going through pictures of the last couple months and thought I would highlight a few of the many memories:

Father Christmas/Santa-

Back in December, Drew sat on Father Christmas and Santa's lap for the first time and wasn't too afraid of either of them. A few tears almost came but mostly he was curious and stared at them.

Red hat and Grandma B.- I just loved these pictures of Drew in this cute red hat all bundled up for some fun at "This is the Place". It was pretty darn cold and he still seemed to love being outside and walking around.

I also went and visited my Grandma Brunetti and on this particular visit I had my camera. I thought how it would be nice to have some pictures with his great grandma. She absolutely loved seeing him and making him laugh.


Christmas- Drew's second Christmas was a lot of fun. He didn't quite get into the opening presents- I thought he might like ripping the paper more than he did. One thing he did love was watching and playing with all his cousins. He was even the baby Jesus in our family nativity- and did an awesome job of just sitting there and watching everything. We also dressed him in the cute candy cane pj's that said "little elf" on the bottom- too funny!
Santa also brought him a new fire engine that he loves!

Personality- The collage below just gave me a glimpse at his cute (and sometimes frustrating) personality. He is definitely a mover and a shaker, who loves to throw balls and almost anything else. He loves people and is great at giving that toothy grin and a big clap. He loves people a little too much lately-he will swipe (while growling). grab hair, or bite almost every other kid he sees (he is pulling his friend, Sam's, hair in the bottom left). He doesn't seem to have any fear of the water- we went swimming and he was ready crawl in up to his head! He is a funny little boy, who according to many people is looking more and more like his dad (Ted thinks it has something to do with him chunking up and getting a belly!)
Walking- Drew started walking the end of January. He took his first steps at church in the young women's room (same room my water broke). These pictures were in the first week or so, but it is now his prefered mode of transportation and he is getting pretty good at it. It is funny to see him walking around with that not so little belly sticking out.

So I keep on meaning to play catch up and tell you all about December, but now January is almost over too so I have a lot to catch up on. I am not going to get to those updates today I thought I would give you a link to see a few pictures of our cute Drew. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREW !!!

I cannot believe it has already been a year since Ted sat in our hospital room and started this blog. What an adventure this year has been. It has been so fun to watch him grow and learn. He has been (for the most part) such a good happy baby. I have loved being a mom more than I thought I would. There have of course difficult parts, but how lucky am I to have Drew as my son.


Okay enough of the cheesy stuff. It was a fairly low key birthday- Drew didn't seem to care too much about opening presents for his birthday, but did kick his legs and get really excited for many of the fun toys he got. He absolutely loved his birthday cake and loved the ice cream even more. He ate the cake exactly how I imagined he would- making a great mess of himself. Below are some pictures of the cake eating event!

Dad's award and Halloween!

On my actual birthday we went to Ogden to see my dad get a mayors award for the visual artist of the year (pretty cool!). It was a great birthday gift to have most of my family there and to hear my dad give a great speech. Congratulations Dad!!!

This year for Drew's first Halloween we borrowed an idea and some costume supplies from Abby and we were the 3 little pigs. I think my favorite part was seeing Ted in his pink women's, size 3 XL, sweats. We had fun at both family parties- donut eating contest, pumpkin golf putting (crafted by Grandpa Coop), and carving pumpkins (grown by Papa Mac). We were able to catch a few pictures of Drew in the pumpkin patch!

Florida- go gators!

Florida trip!!!! Ted ended his fall busy time at work and I needed to celebrate (lucky how my birthday coincided with it), so we went to visit Jon and Kristie in Florida for 5 days!!! We left Drew home and I almost had a nervous breakdown leading up to it, but once we were gone I was just fine. It was a well needed break and Drew did just fine here at home (THANKS to all the family who helped). Here are some of the highlights of the trip:
-We went to a University of Florida game, which was crazy! There were 90,000 people there and 90% of them were all decked out in UF gator attire. The crowd was so loud my ears were ringing. It was a close game, so that made it even more exciting.

- We saw quite a bit of gators. It is crazy that they really just live there without fences or anything. We some huge ones at a place called Plains Prairie (I think it is a national park).
-We spent 2 days at Disney World! It was a lot of fun, that place is huge. We even had a "magic moment" where we magically opened the doors to a show- it was actually quite humorous. I would see people with their babies and miss Drew a ton, but then I would think about how nice to not have him there tired and fussy. Funny how it is a great break but you think about him the whole time. Kristie and Jon were so nice to put up with us talking about him.

-The biggest highlight was hanging out with Jon and Kristie for 5 days!!! They were such good hosts and we had the time of our lives. Thanks for making it so fun!

3rd (and final) Marathon

I am constantly behind in updating this blog. Ted ran the St. George Marathon (his 3rd and final marathon) a few weeks ago. He swore he would never do another full marathon but couldn't resist when all of his brothers decided to do it this year (Jonny ended up moving so didn't make it). He was able to keep a steady pace throughout the whole thing (which he has never done before), and felt pretty good at the end.

He also let me go and see "Aida" with some of the girls, and he took Drew to the priesthood broadcast (what a good husband I have). I loved the play!

Updates- 11month old, family visiting, and fall fun!

Warning: A lot has happened in the last month so this may be a long one.
11 month old- Drew is 11 months old and getting much bigger (mostly just around the middle, this little boy has quite the belly now!). He started crawling in September and is loving the freedom. He also went on a swing for the first time and of course was smiling and kicking his legs the whole time. He has formed quite an attachment to his mom (which can sometimes drive me crazy), and is always having fun whenever dad is around.

Fall leaves at Silver Lake- We went with some of my family to Silver Lake to see the leaves before the weather got so cold. It was beautiful and Drew couldn't get enough- he loves being outside!

Family Visiting- Aaron and Erica came for a little visit while they went to interview for a couple jobs out west (keeping my fingers crossed for Utah). We saw Aaron and Erica for a tiny bit but got to spend more time with their kids, which was a lot of fun since we don't get to see them much. We went on a little hike that Samantha, Ryan and Eliza loved and wanted to keep on exploring when it was time to go. We also had some fun at the park with most of the cousins! I loved getting to know those kids better- thanks for visiting!

Baby Moses!!!

IT'S A BOY(cousin)!!!

We are so excited that Drew has a new cousin that is only 10 months younger than him.

My brother Adam and his amazing wife Cheslea had a baby boy this past Wed. Baby Moses came after 30 something hours of labor (most of which were natural, drug free) and 3.25 hours of pushing. Not to mention that he was 9lbs. 7 oz. and 23.5 inches long. Like I said Chelsea is amazing - he is a huge adorable baby!

August came and went

-August-

August was a month that seemed to come and go pretty fast. There were no big vacations and Ted started to get slammed with taxes, so Drew and I had some good quality time together.

Here are some memorable things from August:

-Made spaghetti sauce from tomatoes grown in our garden-

-Lagoon-

-Drew starting to dance in his saucer and play his piano-

-Learned to wave bye bye and give high 5-
-Drew is 9 months old-

He weighed in at 16 lbs. (1st percentile) and is 26 inches long (5th percentile!!!).

Drew had the stomach flu for 1 week :(

July summary

July HIghlights

(I have been horrible at blogging this summer- so I am trying to catch up. These are the highlights of July.)

"4th of July"

We ran the Kaysville race (me and Drew did a 5k and Ted did the 10k) and then enjoyed the Kaysville parade, and a yummy BBQ with our neighborhood.

"Seattle/Anniversary"
Ted had a work trip to Seattle and I joined him for a couple days (leaving Drew with my mom- thanks a bunch mom). It was a week before our anniversary so we treated it like an anniversary trip. We had the time of our lives and loved just being together. We of course talked about Drew the whole time but really loved having the break to be with just the 2 of us.

On the actually day of our 3rd anniversary we went to dinner and then went on a few rides at Lagoon (trying to use the season passes Ted bought us for Christmas- I love Lagoon). We realized we are not as young as we used to be. We called it a night pretty early due to some whip lash from the jet star. Ted did get me some beautiful flowers (as seen below).

"Bear Lake Family Reunion"

We spent 6 days with most of my family for a little reunion at Bear Lake. (we missed you Aaron, Erica and kids)

We had a blast- relaxing at the lake, riding the wave runners, hitting the pinata, doing the olympics, painting our own shirts, eating delicious food, new pajamas for the kids, just chilling, and playing games (baci ball, cards, sardines). A big thanks to mom and dad for making it possible!
